Automobiles in German City Discovered Smeared with Swastikas in Blood, Police Report

Police mentioned they were contacted by a man who found a automobile in Hanau covered with reddish fluid

Roughly 50 cars have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Vehicles, walls and mailboxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.

Law enforcement say they were contacted late on Wednesday night, when a man discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued fluid.

The substance had been placed in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Police then found numerous other vandalized vehicles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement state early analysis show the substance was most likely human blood.

"At present there remains no clue as to its origin; investigators are not yet informed of any harm in relation with the event," they stated.

City officials announced they were attempting "to unravel the case" and have appealed to the residents for tips.

An important representative commented the incident rendered him without words and needed to be addressed promptly.

"This event hits the core of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right attack five years ago," he wrote on online, recalling the death of nine individuals by a gunman targeting residents of foreign heritage in February 2020.
