Fresh Particulars Come to Light Regarding the Finding of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner's Remains

Recent details have emerged regarding the tragic demises of renowned director Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were discovered at their residence residence on Sunday.

The Alarm

A source indicates referencing a confidential source, a therapist scheduled for an appointment first raised the alarm after being unable to gain access the home. The practitioner then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides close by.

After gaining access to the residence, Romy found her father's body. Reports state she then fled the house in anguish, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Another individual who had gone with her contacted 911. Following this, first responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Proceedings

The police have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of premeditated murder, as well as the alleged use of a deadly weapon, said to be a knife. He is currently being held without bail.

Correcting the Record

The anonymous source also disputed several initial details. They said that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick resided in a detached unit on the estate, she did not identify him as a suspect at that juncture.

The source also disputed circulated claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "concerned" about Nick's behavior in the preceding period. Rather the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."

The statement includes descriptions of reportedly "erratic" conduct by Nick at a gathering thrown by Conan O'Brien on the night before the bodies were found. Although the source said they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they maintained that claims of a "blow-up" between the two were untrue.

Investigation Details

According to law enforcement officials, the coroner had not yet established at that point whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Preliminary accounts suggested the state of their bodies pointed to they had been deceased for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, some 15 miles from the residence. He was scheduled to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not received medical clearance and would not be present until no sooner than Wednesday.
