Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a significant and continuing attack targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was striking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on the Islamic Republic launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted locations associated with the the regime, with President Trump urging the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with high efficiency and destroyed a number of missiles," it added.

The statement noted debris landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some material damage and fatalities.

The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
