Joseph Parker and Wardley Set for ‘All or Nothing’ Showdown with Shot at Usyk on the Line

The sport of boxing is in a significant decline this period, with limited compelling matchups and considerably fewer engaging contests than typical. Wardley, previously a white-collar fighter, who only started boxing when he was 20, had no amateur experience and has perpetually battled doubts about his comparatively limited skills. But he is equally near to a opportunity for the championship.

Wardley turns 31 in December, and he said: “It is a massive night for the two of us. It is obviously the biggest fight of my professional life and the most important fight ever. But each time I rise to the occasion I rise to the occasion. This Saturday will be the same. The gap between Parker's level and where people think I am has been a common theme during my entire career.

“He has been going around the block for a long time, with a numerous contests on his record. Certainly not is he an senior boxer but he has been in the boxing world for a significant time and had several tough bouts. I've also endured brutal fights and I understand they take a toll. He has been in a significantly more of those fights than I have.”

But the suspicion remains that Parker should prove too experienced, and too skilful, for his opponent. He should win a hard-fought contest with the conviction that he is next in line for Usyk – still the world’s best heavyweight by a significant margin.
