'Our Mission Involves Only Eliminating' - How The Sudanese Ruthless Paramilitary Group Carried out a Mass Killing

Alert: This Account Presents Disturbing Accounts of Shootings.

Fighters chuckle as they ride on the back of a pick-up truck, hurrying by a series of several dead bodies and moving in the direction of the sinking Sudan's evening sky.

"Look at this extensive accomplishment. Look at this ethnic cleansing," a combatant exclaims.

He grins as he points the video equipment on himself and his fellow fighters, their Rapid Support Forces insignia visible: "These people will all die this way."

The men are rejoicing over a mass killing that relief organizations believe claimed the lives of over 2,000 civilians in the Sudanese city of el-Fasher in recent weeks.

An Urban Center Isolated from the Globe

Following their control of the community under blockade for nearly two years, from late summer the militia advanced to strengthen its control and restrict the remaining civilian population.

Space-based imagery show that troops began to construct a immense sand wall - a built-up dirt embankment - surrounding the edges of the city, closing roads and blocking humanitarian assistance.

While the blockade escalated, seventy-eight individuals were murdered in an paramilitary strike on a place of worship on mid-September, while the UN reported fifty-three additional were slain in aerial and artillery bombardments on a refugee settlement in the autumn.

Explicit Footage Depicts Unarmed People Gunned Down

At dawn on late October the RSF defeated the remaining government defenses and took control of the central base in the urban area, the main facility of the Military Unit, as the government forces withdrew.

One of the most horrific footage to surface and analysed revealed the consequences of a mass killing at a university building on the western side of the city, where numerous dead bodies were observed scattered throughout the ground.

An older man dressed in a white tunic remained alone amongst the victims. He turned to glance as a militiaman armed with a weapon walked down the stairs facing him. Raising his weapon, the fighter discharged a single round at the victim, who dropped to the ground motionless.

"Why is this individual yet breathing," another militiaman exclaimed. "Kill this one."

Space-based imagery captured on 26 October appeared to confirm that executions were furthermore conducted on the streets of el-Fasher, based on a analysis published by the academic research center.

A key observer who spoke reported they had witnessed "multiple of our family members getting executed - the victims were collected in one place and everyone murdered."

Paramilitary Leaders Try to Conduct Reputation Management

In the days that ensued from the massacre, RSF commander conceded that his troops had perpetrated "violations" and announced the events would be looked into.

Part of the apprehended was following a analysis documenting his murders. Deliberately orchestrated and edited recording shared on the paramilitary's authorized messaging account depict the commander being taken into a detention area at a prison on the outskirts of el-Fasher.

At the same time, the paramilitary force and connected online profiles started attempting to reframe the narrative.

Posts presenting its fighters handing out supplies to residents were circulated by some individuals, while the militia's communications team published several clips claiming to show the compassionate management of military captives.

Despite the social media campaign being employed by the militia, their activities in the city have provoked international anger.
