The visionary game developer, who helped create the globally famous first-person shooter Call of Duty, has tragically died in a vehicle crash in Los Angeles, California he was 55 years old.

His passing was confirmed by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, a game studio that he helped create.

The renowned game designer lost his life when his vehicle was involved in a crash and burst into flames on a freeway in LA on this past Sunday, US media outlets report.

"This is an unimaginable loss, and we stand with Vince's loved ones, those closest to him, and everyone impacted by his creative vision," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts commented.
